SPKRBOX (NO)
In SPKRBOX, theatre meets the hip-hop scene. A creative collision with low thresholds, a high level of performance, and a laidback atmosphere.

This evening, the audience foyer at the National Theatre will be the venue of a classic SPRKBOX night. What happens when a rapper is inspired by Ibsen, and an actor has free rein of the rapper’s rhymes and rhythms? You will meet actors from The National Theatre who will give you their own twist on rap lyrics and rappers who have reconstructed Ibsen.
Also, you don't want to miss The Cypher with some of Norway's best hip hop dancers. The evening ends with DJs from Oh Mama! Crew and an all-night-party. And if you meet up early, you can get a real treat: The pop-up performance «Asphalt pulse» written by the Ibsen Award winning playwright M. H. Hallum.
Since the first festival in Oslo and Trondheim in 2014, SPKRBOX’s ambition has been to promote urban performing arts in Norway. SPKRBOX wants to open doors and build bridges between street culture and high culture.
SPKRBOX explores cultural class distinctions, challenges the established theatre, and inspires hip-hop and theatre environments to cooperate across professions, aesthetics and formats. The goal is to establish and develop a genre that in time can contribute to enriching and diversifying the performing arts.
