Swedish critics did not skimp on the superlatives after the premiere of star director Michael Thalheimer's Peer Gynt at Dramaten in the winter of 2018.
Michael Thalheimer is one of Europe's most celebrated directors, known for his riveting stagings of the classics, expressed through powerful images and emotions. He has worked at a number of eminent European theatres and currently serves as director in residence at the prestigious Berliner Ensemble in Germany.
His production of Peer Gynt was widely lauded in the Swedish press. The guest performance during The Ibsen Festival is a unique opportunity to experience Dramaten's production in Norway.
