Medea's Children (NO)
Little Hålogaland Theatre presents a strong story about keeping together, being distressed, happy – and quite stupid.

Directed by Toril Solvang / Lille Hålogaland Teater
When Jason gets a new girlfriend and wants a divorce, the world falls apart for Medea. Their children, Little Jason and Little Medea, do not understand why the parents suddenly appear so childish. In this performance the young actors from Lille Hålogaland Theater explore a situation that many children experience. It is compelling story of standing together, being distressed, happy and pretty stupid.
The play was created at Stockholm City Theatre's children and youth scene, Unga Klara, in 1975. It is inspired by the structure of classical tragedy. Medea's Children is a masterpiece of children's theater, and this is the first time it is played with children in all roles.
Medea's Children is a great show for children and for adults who want an insight into the child's perspective and mindset. Through play, imagination and a good dose of humor Little Theatre Hålogaland takes us to a world where the conflicts of the adults is seen from the children's point of view, where children are taken seriously, and where the act of play creates order in a world full of chaos .
With Medea's Children, director Toril Solvang has made a contribution to the development and renewal of the performing arts for children – the theater public of the future.
