JDX – A public enemy (BE)
tg STAN – one of the most renowned theatre companies in Europe – challenges conventions with An Enemy of the People .

Directed by tg STAN
JDX – a public enemy (An Enemy of the People) is the story of one man's struggle against a social and political majority. And Henrik Ibsen's theme fits well with the project tg STAN is based on: The Belgian company works with a wide range of texts, but they all have social criticism as a starting point.
It is not the first time tg STAN visits Norway with a play by Henrik Ibsen. The last time was during the Ibsen Festival in 2012, with Nora. That was a critical perspective on consumerism and the pitfalls in prosperous European homes.
tg STAN has two key characteristics: it is actor oriented and un-dogmatic. The un-dogmatic aspect is reflected both in the name – S(top) T(hinking) A(bout) N(ames) – and in the repertoire. They do not use a director, a point on which they refuse to compromise. That may be the reason that their best work constitutes a powerful unity. The actors clearly enjoy their work, and the performances are remarkable, communicating social and political issues without moralizing.
