Guest Production

Directed by Tue Biering and Jeppe Kristensen / Fix & Foxy

Very few plays have been staged more times than A Doll's House. That may be because Ibsen understands real people. He knows our behavior and our thoughts. Henrik Ibsen wanter theater to be like real life, that the actors should act like real people and that the stage should look exactly like a real home.

The Danish duo Fix & Foxy will stage A Doll's house in a real home, with real people in the roles of Nora and Helmer. The actors are unprepared – no rehersals, no introduction. All they know is that the audience will come – nothing else.

Fix & Foxy has produced theatre, performance, social interactions, soaps and movies. For them, genres are beautiful “readymades” which they can pounce on. Their work is about using pictures that everyone has on the retina: The images we have of each other, taken from pop culture, blockbuster movies, media and old kitsch.

Produced by: Fix & Foxy in collaboration with the National Theatre and the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. Directors: Tue Biering and Jeppe Kristensen. Producer: Søren Normann Hansen. Production Assistants: Siri Forberg and Mette Bisgaard.
