Nora oder ein Puppenhaus (DE)
Avant-garde animated film, horror-comedy and bursting with colours

Directed by Herbert Fritsch / Theater Oberhausen
A Doll’s House from Theatre Oberhausen is a production full of humorous and fantastical scenes acted in a burlesque style throughout. The text is very close to Ibsen’s original, but the staging challenges our reading of Ibsen in a previously unseen way. It draws out the comedic potential, fun and fantasy from Ibsen’s work.
Comedy and Horror specialist Herbert Fritsch is at the helm again and has, under the influence of Hitchcock and Rainer Werner Fassbinder, created a grotesque horror-comedy. Politics bubble under the surface, with wry sociological criticism. Fritsch has captured a world where money, superficiality, jewellery, appearance and sex are all that matters.
Text: A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen. With Nora Buzalka, Manja Kuhl, Torsten Bauer, Henry Meyer, Jürgen Sarkiss. Director: Herbert Fritsch. Costumes: Victoria Behr. Music: Otto Beatus. Dramaturge: Tilman Raabke.
