Ghosts (SE)
Teatr Weimar’s drag adaptation of Ghosts is a trash version of an Ibsen parody, performed with a great amount of love for the author

Directed by Linda Ritzén / Teatr Weimar, Sweeden
All roles are played by two male actors wearing false eyelashes, make-up, dresses, men’s shoes, wigs and waistcoats. They linger on different scenes from the piece, the characters talk to themselves and experiment with reciting their lines in different ways. Teatr Weimar aims to place Ibsen’s gender roles under the microscope and examine why we use various social masks in our encounters with others. The performance represents a theatrical event as a voyeuristic work, in which the spectators may witness the power structures and conformity that exist in society at large.
