White horses (NO)
Teater Ibsen is performing at the Ibsen festival for the first time, in the première of Jon Tombre’s production of Rosmersholm.

Directed by Jon Tombre / Teater Ibsen
Teater Ibsen has chosen to put on Rosmersholm as White Horses (Hvite hester) – which was the title of Ibsen’s first draft – to signal their emphasis on the poetry and myth in the script.
In this production, “White Horses is about forces that cannot be controlled, urges that cannot be ignored and the denial of desires that challenge the accepted rules. White Horses is based on Rosmersholm: a multi-faceted and complex masterpiece by Henrik Ibsen.”
White Horses is Jon Tombre’s third Ibsen production. He has previously directed Hedda Gabler (Hålogaland Theatre 1997) and Little Eyolf (Teater Ibsen 2007). Jon Tombre’s productions have been presented at the Samtidsfestival (2007), the Ultima festival (2005), Neue Stuck aus Europa (2005) and the Ibsen festival (1998). His approach to the theatre is physical and metaphorical.
White Horses is part of Teater Ibsen’s strategic endeavour to introduce Ibsen in new and surprising ways to a broad audience. This is the company’s third Ibsen production in 2008.
With Lasse Valdal (Rosmer), Anne E. Kokkinn (Rebekka), Frank Jørstad (Kroll), Jonatan Filip Johnsen (Mortensgård) Ola Otnes (Ulrik Brendel) Leif Winther (Herr Helseth).
