In a modern apartment Nora and Helmer live with their three children and an au-pair. A middle class couple of the kind you will find in any European city.

Nora is dressed in Prada and the apartment bears witness to somebody with money, or somebody who wants to show that they have money through the ”correct” designer objects. Instead of leaving her husband, who has played with her like a Barbie, Nora shoots Torvald at the end of the Ostermeier/Schaubühne-production of A Doll’s House. The German critics experienced this production as intensely and shocking as the effect the very first production had on the audience of its age.
