A Doll's House (NO)
The production from Den Nationale Scene moves Nora out of the bourgeois parlours and puts her, very credibly, in the modern surroundings of a livingroom in the Norwegian city of Bergen anno 2003.

Directed by Yngve Sundvor / Den Nationale Scene
The back wall, a silver screen, shows Nora’s ideal world in which the marvelous takes place: Helmer, the knight in full armour, goes into battle for his Nora and devotes himself to her. The production is almost totally modernised, but not radically to the degree that we lose Ibsen’s words and intentions. This is Ibsen’s play, but still one that sticks to the central questions about how we get caught up by the expectations of others, of the price of liberty, of our illusions about ourselves and others – and of the difference between genders.
